Staring a new career in Canada... advice please?
I am a Canadian citizen, but have spent most of my 10-year working life based overseas (except for a 6-month internship after graduation). I have changed careers twice and currently work as a VP at an American investment bank in a China-focused capital markets role. I previously worked in market research & consulting. I have grown so weary of the day-in-day-out workaholic life (averaging 14 hours a day) and since I'm planning to get married soon, I'm giving serious thought to starting a hopefully normal life back in Canada. But will I struggle to find a decent, professional position due to my lack of Canadian experience? Is China experience in demand at all by any Canadian employers? And finally, are there any headhunters or advisers who might be able to counsel someone in my position? I'm really open to any career option, as long as it's an interesting, stimulating position that allows me to support a family.
