I have an Olympus E-500. I am trying to get back to Auto FOCUS, where it locks when I press halfway down!?

Somewhere, somehow, I must have pressed something under the menu options, but now I can no longer use my AEL, AFL...I want to go back to when I purchased the camera and basically, everything is AUTO...I have no idea what ISO setting or WB setting or any other setting should be on. When I take pics now, it comes out really blurry...but I have noticed, if I am somewhat farther away, the pic comes out clearer...It must be on some manual setting somewhere..Already tried resetting, didn't work...someone with brains with cameras...PLEASE HELP! I am putting together a project for my aunts funeral and need this fixed ASAP!!! I appreciate it!
